Have you seen Silver Linings Playbook? It's pretty good, right? Now close your eyes and re-watch the whole movie in your mind, only this time imagine it with Vince Vaughn and Zooey Deschanel in the lead roles.

What a weird exercise, indeed. In an interview with the Huffington Post, director David O. Russell said that he had initially intended for Vaughn and Deschanel to play the roles of Pat and Tiffany.

"Although, I wrote this five years ago and I rewrote it 20 times. And I thought I was going to make it with Vince Vaughn and Zooey Deschanel before "The Fighter."

What a bad movie you had set out to make, David O. Russell. Can you even imagine Zooey Deschanel's Oscar acceptance speech? Oh god, she would definitely sing.
