Come next week, we'll get to see with our own eyes if the pop-culture feud of 2012 is as fake as it seems when American Idol begins its 12th season featuring Mariah Carey and Nicki Minaj on its judging panel. But until then, we'll just have to take their word for it. Nicki has already weighed in, and Mariah got an extended chance to do so last night on Nightline when she sat down with the always daffy Barbara Walters.

Mariah, in simultaneous over-it and woe-is-me modes, stuck to her story that Nicki threatened her and felt her work environment was unsafe. Overall, she said it was a "crass moment" (add it to the list) on a "classic, classy show" (ha!). But the best thing she said came as a result of Walters quoting Nicki's recent "Hell Yeah" ("...I'm quick to the check a bitch if she outta line / Shout out Mike, Darnell, and Nigel / Why these bums so mad that the queen on idol?") and asking Mariah if she is "the bitch [Nicki's] singing about." I won't spoil the answer, but know that Mariah, the A-list's queen of shade, let the world know exactly what she thinks of Nicki's vocal talent.

At the end of the interview, Babs said that Mariah said that she and Nicki have made up. Obviously, "making up" has its limits as they still have a show to put on.
