On Sunday, record-breaking skier Lindsey Vonn announced on Facebook that she and boyfriend of three years Tiger Woods had broken up. Ice cold.

Vonn wrote:

After nearly three years together, Tiger and I have mutually decided to end our relationship. I will always cherish the memories that we’ve created together. Unfortunately, we both lead incredibly hectic lives that force us to spend a majority of our time apart. I will always admire and respect Tiger. He and his beautiful family will always hold a special place in my heart.

In 2013, Vonn and Woods did this weird thing where they simultaneously announced on Facebook that they were dating each other. The break-up announcement, however, has not been simultaneous—Woods has yet to post anything to his Facebook about it.

Vonn won the World Cup title in downhill skiing in March, while Woods hasn’t won a tournament since August 2013, the Associated Press reports. He will drop out of the top 120 in the next world ranking. As hard as it’s going to be, we can only hope this is the best thing for both of them.
