How do you get American citizens to care that they are being surveilled by their own government? Have a bunch of celebrities film what feels like a movie trailer about sinister forces of darkness. It's the thriller of the year, ya'll.

The anti-surveillance PSA stars has a celeb for every demo—there's Maggie Gyllenhaal for the artisanal hipsters, Oliver Stone for the conspiracy theorists, John Cusack for our fading youth, Wil Wheaton for all o' the Internet, and Daniel Ellsberg for gravitas, and Phil Donahue for...reasons that remain unclear.

The video was put together by StopWatching.us, a coalition of more than 100 public advocacy organizations and companies that banded together in June to "demand the U.S. Congress investigate the full extent of the NSA's spying programs." They're holding a march in Washington, D.C. on Saturday, October 26th where Representative Justin Amash will be speaking. Who knows, maybe Angela Merkel will show up.
