Man Says His McDonald's Coffee Came With a Free Dead Mouse
Ron Morais, of Fredericton, New Brunswick, doesn't like to waste a drop of his coffee. "I always take the lid off to get my last sip," he told the CBC. But he says that on a visit to McDonald's Monday, he found something in his cup that ruined his appetite for last bit of coffee there: A dead mouse.
The unfortunate rodent came complete with "a few little, shall we say, presents, that the mouse had dropped," Morais said.
No. Let us say "tiny mouse shits" instead.
Although it wouldn't be hard to plant a mouse in a cup and blame it on McDonald's, Morais's coworkers corroborated his story: Ron had definitely consumed the entire cup of coffee with the mouse in it.
"Unless I had been there and seen Ron drink all that coffee down to the last drop, I would have been, like, 'You're lying,'" one of them told the CBC.
McDonald's wasn't like "you're lying," but it did say in a statement that the public health authority and a pest control company had investigated the restaurant and didn't find any problems.
"We would also caution against jumping to conclusions until more details are available," said the company that maybe served a man a cup of tiny-mouse-shit-flavored coffee.
Morais is sanguine about the whole thing. He just wants to know how the mouse got in there.
"I mean, hey, you know. I'm here. And I'm in better shape than the mouse," he said.
