Report: Woman Told Man She Wasn't Interested So He Stalked, Groped Her
After a woman at a Manhattan nightclub told a man that she was not interested in him, he reportedly followed her out of the club and onto an MTA bus. When she got off the bus more than a mile later in an attempt to lose him, he allegedly attacked her.
According to DNAinfo, the woman, whose name was not released, was at Cielo nightclub when Mitch Martin, 41, allegedly approached her early on January 24. She told him she was not interested. When she decided to leave the club at 5 a.m., Martin allegedly pursued her. Via DNAinfo:
Martin tailed the victim onto an MTA bus, and when she got off at East 14th Street and Third Avenue in an attempt to lose him, he kept following her, police said.
As the victim approached Second Avenue on 14th Street, Martin attacked, grabbing her and groping her chest and crotch, police said.
Martin allegedly fled when the woman began screaming and someone nearby stepped in. He was apprehended by NYPD officers in Union Square. According to the Manhattan District Attorney's office, Martin was charged with "sexual abuse and forcible touching." He is being held on bond.
