Gainesville, Florida's Dove World Outreach Center really wants to burn some Korans on 9/11, damnit! And even though the city has denied them a "burn permit" for the occasion, they're doing it anyway. USA, USA!

There's more "Ground Zero mosque" news today! Here's Prop 8 lawyer Ted Olson, whose wife Barbara was killed on 9/11 (while he was Solicitor General), on the Islamic community center saga: "I think probably the president was right about this."

Now that Barack Obama has opened his mouth on Cordoba House—aka Park51, aka (but not really) the "Ground Zero Mosque"—the ugly story won't be going away for a while. So, what's the latest?

Tonight, Jon Stewart issued a one-two punch regarding the proposed "Ground Zero Mosque." First, to President Obama for flip-flopping on his support for it, and then to Glenn Beck for criticizing another's statements about 9/11 that he'd recently made himself.

While some families of 9/11 victims have spoken out against the Islamic community center to be built blocks from Ground Zero, it's incorrect to claim that "the 9/11 families," in general, oppose it. Hundreds have actually endorsed the plan.

Master of subtle rationality Rush Limbaugh took to the airwaves today to discuss the Ground Zero non-mosque (just like Newt Gingrich did this morning) and, in the process, called Barack Obama "our first anti-American president." Audio of Limbaugh's rant, inside.

Vile political failure Newt Gingrich has another stupid comparison for the Islamic center in lower Manhattan: "Nazis don't have the right to put up a sign next to the Holocaust Museum in Washington." How many things are wrong here?

On Friday, President Obama spoke out supporting the right of the developers of the Cordoba House—the so-called "ground zero mosque"—to build at their site. And Republicans wouldn't shut up about it. It's okay! We have other ideas.

The MTA has agreed to run these ugly ads opposing the Cordoba House (or, in the ad's words, "WTC Mega Mosque") on its buses. Luckily, there are no buses left in New York, thanks to the MTA's service cuts. [NYP]

Michael Bloomberg, having already delivered an eloquent defense of the Islamic community center near Ground Zero, has returned to his typical testiness. Today, for example, he told a radio host, "It's a shame we even have to talk about this."

Rep. Anthony Weiner and Sen. Chuck Schumer are two of New York's loudest Democratic politicians. They love to opine on everything! Except, strangely, on the issue of the Ground Zero Mosque. Why such deafening silence from these two flappy-mouths?

Occasionally, New York City's King, Mayor Michael Bloomberg, takes stands that aren't the easiest, politically. Now that Cordoba House—the so-called "Ground Zero Mosque"—will be constructed, let's give the man major credit for his rigorous defense.
