Hillary Clinton Just Wants to Take A Nap, Get Jacked, and Watch HGTV

Now that President Obama has been reelected, we can focus on more important things like the 2016 presidential race. The big question on everyone's mind right now is whether or not Hillary Clinton will run in the next election. She told Obama a long time ago that she would not return to serve as Secretary of State in the President's second term. So what is a former first lady and Senator to do with a bunch of time off?

Obama Effigy with the Words 'Pray 4 Assassin' Spotted in Alabama

According to the geography academics at Floating Sheep, the vast majority of racist tweets posted in the aftermath of President Obama's reelection came from Alabama, so it's of little surprise that a Dale County resident had few qualms about placing an Obama effigy on their front porch along with the sign "Pray 4 Assassin."

A California woman who gained overnight infamy after posting a Facebook status update expressing a desire to see President Obama — whom she referred to as "the nigger" — assassinated during his second term in office remained defiant despite losing her job at Cold Stone Creamery and being brought to the attention of the Secret Service.

President Obama Breaks Down As He Tells Staff and Volunteers, 'I'm Really Proud of All of You'

Leah Beckmann · 11/09/12 01:29AM

On Wednesday night, the day after the president's re-election, Barack Obama paid a surprise visit to Chicago campaign headquarters. In the video, Obama is informal, uninhibited, and genuine as he thanks the staff and volunteers for their dedication and hard work. "It's not that you guys actually remind me of myself," he tells the group, "it's the fact that you are so much better than I was."

Against Demographics

John Cook · 11/08/12 03:45PM

As my colleague Cord Jefferson notes, the 2012 election returns have been widely interpreted as the ratification of an ethno-political realignment that first occurred in 2008: Black, Latino, and Asian voters are firmly in the Democratic column, and they will remain so in ever greater numbers. The white population is shrinking relative to its brown counterparts, and demography is destiny. Brown people are Democrats, white people are Republicans, and brown people are having more babies. Good luck, GOP!

What Obama's Second Term Will Really Look Like

Mallory Ortberg · 11/07/12 08:51PM

There is a particular type of white person who startles easily, like a sensitive, inbred racehorse or a motherless baby bird. As you might imagine, this has not been an easy week for them. What do they fear? Everything, mostly. Religions that are very similar but not identical to their own. Loud voices and bold fonts. Multi-book series that are not trilogies. More specifically, they fear what will happen to this most American of the Americas during another four years of an Obama presidency.

Did College Education Zombie Brainwashing Secure Obama's Victory?

Hamilton Nolan · 11/07/12 01:59PM

Many theories have already been bandied about for why Barack Obama secured his reelection last night: fundamental demographic changes in the voting base, ossified Republican proposals, the creaky inability of Mitt Romney to appear convincingly humanoid. But only one member of the pundit class has been incisive enough to peer more deeply into the true rotten, beating heart of Obama's victory: our national system of liberal zombification centers.
