Paul Maidment, editor of Forbes.com, is leaving the company. He sent out this farewell memo to the staff:

This memo just went out to NYT staffers, informing them that managing editor Jill Abramson is stepping down temporarily in order to take a turn running the "news part of the website." Three other top editors will take turns at her job in the meantime. Bill Keller tries to preemptively dismiss the speculation that will result from this but uh, sure looks like some sort of job tryout. "OPTICS."

The official theme of AOL, the fast-fading internet giant, is to "beat the internet," CEO Tim Armstrong confirms in an internal memo. And by "beat" he apparently means "pummel into a bloody whimpering mess."

The Huffington Post has a way of squandering its own victories over the establishment press, and it's happened again: Larry Roberts, the investigations editor triumphantly lured from the Washington Post, has resigned.
