Jonathan Saenz, an evil man known for stuff like claiming same-sex marriage leads to polygamy and "standing strong" with the Boy Scouts of America against admitting gay people, divorced his wife in 2011. She left him, it turns out, because she was in love with a woman.

Court records, obtained by Texas LGBT blog Lone Star Q, allege that Corrine Saenz was "deeply involved" in a relationship with Ercimin Paredes, a fellow teacher at Becker Elementary School, as early as 2010.

Just months after divorce proceedings began, Jonathan Saenz signed on as president of Texas Values, the state's biggest anti-gay group. The revelation, Lone Star Q speculates, could "help explain Saenz's seemingly abrupt transformation from socially conservative lobbyist to homophobic firebrand."

The divorce was finalized last year. Since then, Raw Story notes, Saenz has teamed up with Texas Attorney General and Republican gubernatorial candidate Greg Abbott to attempt to ban gay marriage in the state, and as Lone Star Q points out, his leadership of Texas Values has included endorsements of nonsense like "ex-gay" therapy and claims that gay marriage supporters want to marry their stepchildren and put their opponents in concentration camps. Reasonable guy all around, it seems like.

No word on whether Corrine Saenz and Ercimin Paredes are still together, but if so, we wish them the best of luck in their relationship!
