Kiefer Sutherland was in a New York police precinct house for two hours, being charged with assault for headbutting someone at a Met Costume gala after-party. But he has yet to answer to Anna Wintour.

The Vogue editor and Costume Institute gala organizer is furious the actor blemished the reputation of her big party, not to mention the face of designer Jack McCollough, a source tells Ben Widdicombe:

Now that's all anyone is talking about, not her party. And she is so genuinely fond of Jack, she has supported him and Lazaro for years, she really feels they are part of the future of American fashion. So she's doubly annoyed.

No wonder Wintour looked so depressed walking around town the other day. Truth be told, though, 24 producer Fox has far more at stake — and, after two drunk driving convictions, so does Sutherland.
