The publisher and ghostwriter of Real Housewife of New Jersey Danielle Staub's memoir, The Naked Truth, are being sued by Staub's ex-husband, Kevin Maher. The lawsuit claims that Simon & Schuster and the author defamed Maher by calling him abusive.

The book claims that Staub, née Beverly Merrill, who is not named in the suit (because, ha, y'know, she didn't really write it), was put in the hospital by one of Maher's attacks, and that he served a year and a half in prison for the offense.
