So there they are! My quick reaction is that John Hawkes and Jeremy Renner are the two most pleasant surprises. It's a bit strange that Michelle Williams got nominated and Ryan Gosling didn't, I kind of thought they'd be a pair, but the film must at least be happy that someone got something. I'm personally thrilled to see Jacki Weaver up there, as wicked as a surprise she was in Animal Kingdom.

it's interesting to note the Academy's love of True Grit, which the Hollywood Foreign Press didn't nominate for a single Golden Globe. People are different, I suppose!
