Our man Herman Cain had a scheduled interview at 10 a.m. this morning with the editorial board of the New Hampshire Union Leader, the state's biggest newspaper. Every candidate does this interview. Dumb turd Rick Perry even did it!

But at approximately 10:45 a.m., Cain was still a no-show when his spokesperson finally contacted the paper to tell them the deal was off. The problem appears to be that the editors wanted to record the interview, on camera. What was Herman Cain so scared of? Oh, this.

Big wigs at the Union Leader took the occasion of Cain's no-show to relentlessly mock him. Editorial page editor Drew Cline tweeted, "If Cain is more than 30 minutes late for our interview, is our next one free?" And publisher Joe McQuaid pointed out that Cain is going to lose anyway:

"I think it's crazy for a guy who want to be a major presidential candidate here in New Hampshire not to take the opportunity for a full-length interview with the state's largest newspaper. The window is drawing to a close and my guys have other things to do," he said. "Gingrich scheduled for for interview on Monday. And it will be televised on C-SPAN. Cain was here earlier but not for a full-blown interview."

McQuaid, asked whether he thought Cain was dissing the Union Leader, replied, "No. It's politics and campaigns. I don't think the guy is going anywhere now anyway."

What do you know, McQuaid! It's not like presidents would ever have to appear on camera. Stupid racists.
