Fashion's Night Out took place last night. Just a few things that went down across town:

About 1,000 people (or perhaps less) hit up the Macy's in Queens Center to meet a t-shirt-clad Anna Wintour, who was accompanied by Michael Kors, Diane von Furstenberg, Kate Hudson, Terry Lundgren, and Michael Bloomberg. Also in the crowd: Anna's boss, Condé Nast chief Si Newhouse, who made the trip to Queens as well ... Over at Bergdorf Goodman, André Leon Talley played board games, Zac Posen painted, Padma Lakshmi judged a celebrity cook-off, the Olsens bartended (at least for 10 seconds or so), and Posh Beckham stood around looking fierce in thigh-high Gucci boots ... Oscar de la Renta held a sing-a-long at his store with Bette Midler, Sarah Jessica Parker, and Barbara Walters all taking part ... Teen Vogue's block party featured Gossip Girl's Taylor Momsen and the band The Pretty Reckless ... At Saks, Justin Timberlake attracted a massive crowd (or maybe just turned the store into "carnival of horrors") ... And nutty personal trainer Tracy Anderson put on an exercise demonstration at DVF's meatpacking district HQ. Go here, here, here, here for more highlights and details.

More on today's shows, who went where, and the bits of news that surfaced along the way:

  • Jason Wu showed off his collection at the St. Regis this afternoon. The venue was packed with the fashion elite, including La Wintour, naturally. [WSJ, NBC, FS]
  • Yigal Azrouel's show this morning didn't attract Ashley Dupre like last year (although he'd made it clear that she wasn't going to be there). Strangely, though, alleged paramour, Katie Lee Joel, didn't show up either. But Emmanuelle Chriqui sure did, though, and she looked lovely sitting next to socialite Fabiola Beracasa. [Cut, WSJ]
  • Not surprisingly, Charlotte Ronson's show today was full of celebs, socials, and other hangers-on. A few of the folks spotted: Russell Simmons, Erin Lucas, Nicky Hilton, Tinsley Mortimer, Elle's Joe Zee, siblings Mark and Samantha, and half-sibling Annabelle. [Racked]
  • Spotted at Rag & Bone this afternoon: Becki Newton, Jessica Szohr, and Jessica Stam, who was comfortably seated in the front row—not walking the catwalk this time. [WWD, Racked]
  • At the Preen show today: Becki Newton, socialite Genevieve Jones, DJ/scenester Leigh Lezark, Alexa Chung, and Ms. Nina Garcia, among others. [Cut, The Thread]
  • Reality TV star (and now fashion designer) Whitney Port showed off her "Whitney Eve" collection at a group show yesterday. It was followed by an after-party at Le Souk Harem. [WSJ, SW]
  • Coverage of a handful of other shows/presentations that took place: Cynthia Rowley, Phillip Lim, Ruffian, Nicole Miller, Luca Luca, Erin Wasson x RVCA, and Monique Lhuillier.
  • Poor "celebrity stylist" Robert Verdi. It seems he's been shut out of the Marc Jacobs and Jason Wu shows (among others). And now he thinks there's some sort of plot against him because he's gay. Really. [Cut]
  • Tom Ford's debut film, A Single Man, premiered today at the Venice Film Festival. [WWD]
  • Thom Browne is expanding, yes. But he's not lowering prices. [Cut]
  • These days, fashion designers find their muses in all sorts of places. Even the occasional 13-year-old girl from Chicago. [WSJ]
  • Rachel Zoe is "the best boss in the world." At least that's what her assistant, Brad, says. So it must be true! [Cut]
  • Cathy Horyn of the New York Times insists on reflecting on the gloomy news today. Buzzkill. Says Horyn: "Designer fashion—the creative wellspring of the American apparel industry, the engine of style magazines, the stuff of plain old dreams—is experiencing a serious case of the blues... Here is the reality: More and more people shop at H&M and other purveyors of cheap chic." [NYT]
  • More depressing news: the runway show may be near its end! [NYM]
  • Not depressing per se, but potentially disappointing, especially if your initials are "AW" and you work at Vogue: It's unclear if people actually did much shopping during Fashion's Night Out, or if they all just turned up for free food/drinks and to see celebrities in the flesh. [HuffPo]
